Protein Immunogenicity Assessment

As every protein has an immunogenic potential, therapeutic proteins can trigger an immune response when they are injected in the organism. This immune response can generate more or less severe consequences, ranging from the inhibition of the protein and neutralisation of therapeutic activity to critical inflammation. Therefore, evaluating the immunogenic potential of a protein drug before a first administration to Human is crucial.

In collaboration with the Life science department of the French Atomic Energy Commission (CEA), Protéus now offers a new range of services, Immuno'Line™, for the immunogenicity evaluation of protein candidates prior to clinical development.

The immune response to a therapeutical protein is rapid and sustained, and due to the secretion of high affinity IgGs to this protein. The pivotal role of T Cells in the activation of this humoral response has been established. Immuno'Line™ includes ex vivo human cellular assays and in vitro immuno-enzymatic assays to provide essential information on the immunogenic potential of a therapeutic protein.
