IP as a Tool for Value Creation

Since founding, Protéus has maintained a dedicated in house intellectual property (“IP”) team which works in close collaboration with the R&D project leaders to conduct competitive intelligence survey and define the appropriate IP strategy to protect results for both internal and collaborative research. Stringent procedures using certified laboratory books have been set up to protect the know-how resulting from the research programs. Each page of said laboratory notebooks are marked by a specific non-removable hologram.

The strong R&D effort of Protéus and a series of collaborative agreements with academic or industrial laboratories has enabled the company to build a unique and attractive set of proprietary elements. The highly skilled Protéus IP team includes PhD’s in chemistry and pharmacy and legal advisor. The team constantly monitors the IP policy of the company to insure that it is consistent with its business development strategy.

Protéus believes that its policy of patent filing and license agreements provide an efficient protection of its proprietary elements, as well as an efficient protection of the IP arising from the results, products and processes generated within the frame of industrial partnerships. This policy is an important source of competitiveness and revenues for Protéus and its scientific partners, as well as a key element of the freedom to operate for its industrial partners.
