Jean-Marie Sonet

General Manager, PCAS Biosolution

Jean-Marie Sonet has been PCAS Biosolution's general manager since its formation. He spent his entire career in the biotech industry with an emphasis in the so-called "white biotech", i.e. biotech as a tool for industrial manufacturing. His goal is to offer to the pharmaceutical industry new bio-based solutions to accelerate drug development and reduce time-to-market.

Jean-Marie Sonet graduated in Biochemistry and Philosophy from the University of Strasbourg and Aix-en-Provence. For two years, he conducted research in microbiology in the food industry. He then joined Boehringer Mannheim GmbH (now merged with Roche), a world leader in enzymes and diagnosis, where he gained strong marketing experience over a period of five years.

In 1986, he joined the management of the biotech company Appligene, Illkirch (France) as VP, Sales and Marketing and board member. He established and developed new company businesses in Heidelberg (Germany), Newcastle upon Tyne (United Kingdom) and Basel (Switzerland) and helped the company go public.

In 1998, Jean-Marie Sonet was one of the founders of Protéus, Nîmes, France. He was member of the board of Protéus and VP, Business Development and Marketing until he joined PCAS Biosolution.
